Chrome rims on your car or truck make a statement about you and transform your ride into something individual and special. The shiny surface complements any colour and will enhance the look of any make or model of car, whether old or new. Chrome rims are available from sixteen to twenty four inches for all makes of cars, trucks and SUV’s and can be found in the shiny, mirror like surface or in black chrome.
Once you have your chrome rims installed you’ll want to take the best care of them to make sure they stay looking good for many years. Here’s a guide to help you do that.
- Wash off any mud and dirt with a fine spray of water.
- Wash wheels with a sponge using a mixture of car shampoo and wax.
- Rinse thoroughly with water.
- If there is still staining on the chrome use a cleaner specially made for chrome wheels. Spray it on the chrome and rub gently with a sponge then wash it off.
- Allow the wheels to dry then use a wax layer for protection. Any dirt will stick to the wax rather than the chrome and be easier to remove.
- Wash at least once a week to prevent the surface becoming pitted.
Some Don’ts
Never use a car wash as the detergents used are harsh and can damage the chrome finish.
Never use wheel cleaners that aren’t made fro chrome as they contain acid which will pit the chrome surface.
